Scholarships That Empower Futures

Education has the power to transform lives. At the Richard & Min Vondrak Foundation, Inc., our scholarship program is dedicated to supporting the families of U.S. military veterans, active-duty service members, and economically disadvantaged students. By reducing the financial burden of higher education, we help create pathways to success. Every scholarship recipient is selected through a fair and thorough evaluation process that reflects our core values of integrity, opportunity, and service.

A Holistic Review Process

Scholarship awards are determined through a comprehensive evaluation conducted by the Foundation’s scholarship commitee. Scholarship funds are paid directly to the educational institution. Financial assistance is based on the following key factors:

  • Academic Performance
  • Financial Need
  • Leadership Potential
  • Participation in Community Volunteer Hours
  • Letters of Reference
  • Personal Essay
  • Proof of military status or dependency on a U.S. military veteran or active-duty service member when applicable

Who Can Apply

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be either a spouse, child, grandchild, or legal dependent of a United States military veteran or active-duty service member, or an at-risk student facing economic disadvantage.

  • Be a permanent resident of the United States.

  • Have completed or are completing high school with a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
    (This requirement does not apply to applicants for grades K-12 private schools).

  • Be accepted as a full-time student at a college, university, trade school, or private school program for the upcoming academic semester.

  • Submit a completed scholarship application postmarked by the stated deadline.

  • Complete a maximum 250-word essay related to educational goals or field of study
    (Not required for applicants for grades K-12 private school).

  • Provide proof of military status or dependency on a U.S. military veteran or active-duty service member when applicable.

What You’ll Need to Submit

Scholarship applicants must provide the following materials:

  • A completed scholarship application form.

  • An official high school transcript, submitted in a sealed envelope from the institution. (Not required for grades K-12 private school applicants)

  • Two letters of recommendation.

  • A maximum 250-word personal essay. (Not required for grades K-12 private school applicants)

  • A letter of acceptance from a college, university, vocational, technical, or private school.

  • Provide proof of military status or dependency on a U.S. military veteran or active-duty service member when applicable.
